Commercial captures the joy of gamers and the games that made them

For those who have shared a long-time relationship with video games will undoubtedly understand the emotion that is conveyed in the latest commercial for the upcoming Seiken Densetsu VISIONS of MANA.

EDITORIAL

The times may change, but our fond memories of the past remain unwavering. Although the past may hold both happy and unhappy memories, those regarding our childhood past times often remains part of our lives into adulthood and beyond. Some may find these things nothing more than a flight of fancy or indulging our inner child, but to others it means so much more.

It’s these long-standing video game franchises that give us gamers something to look forward to, something to get excited about, not just because it’s a new game to play after work or school, but because it encapsulates our so much more than a few hours in our past. Those moments are what made us and continue to shape us into the coming future.

We remember the desperate yet hopeful trek up Death’s Peak in Chrono Trigger in the attempt to turn back time, we rejoiced at the sudden appearance of a familiar face who joined our team in the sequel Chrono Cross, and still to this day over 25 years later, we wonder if there will ever be another installment in the franchise. That’s why we’re always filled with joy and wonder whenever a new game is announced in a series that we’ve loved for so long.

This new advertisement captures the feeling that so many of us feel about our most treasured games.

The advertisement takes a look back at the original releases of what’s commonly known as the Seiken or Mana series, originally by Square, now Square Enix. Beginning in 1991 with the release of Seiken Densetsu on the Nintendo Game Boy, which had its name changed to Final Fantasy Adventure in the West, the series continued in quick succession with Seiken Densetsu II in 1993 and Seiken Densetsu III in 1995. The series has seen multiple releases ever since.

VISIONS of MANA is due out this summer for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Steam. Stay tuned for further updates!

YOASOBI appears as a guest at the official meeting between Japan’s Prime Minister Kishida and the President of the United States

A video was released on Twitter of Prime Minister Kishida’s official dinner hosted by President Biden and his wife with the appearance of YOASOBI and ikura.

On the 12th, the Prime Minister’s Office announced on Twitter that Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who is visiting the United States, attended a state dinner hosted by President Biden and his wife.

“We enjoyed engaging with guests from diverse fields who are highly involved in both Japan and the United States.”

The video captures President Biden welcoming Prime Minister Kishida at the White House, along with ikura from the popular group YOASOBI.
