Vane joins the roster of playable characters in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising

Get ready to play as Vane (CV: Takuya Eguchi) in the Ver.1.30 update for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR), available on the PS5/PS4 and Steam! The update just went live today, April 2nd, so be sure to check it out!

Vane, voiced by the talented Takuya Eguchi, is a beloved character since the early days of Granblue Fantasy and one of the White Dragon Knights, joining Lancelot, Sigfried, and Percival. He’s a character that packs a severe punch, hitting from a distance with his halberd and crazy combos.

You can purchase this character DLC for 880yen (tax included).

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is now available on PS5, PS4, and Steam. The game offers three editions: the “Standard Edition” for 6,600 yen (tax included), the “Deluxe Edition” for 9,680 yen (tax included), and a free edition that allows players to enjoy the game at no cost with periodically rotating characters.

GTO Revival Special Drama

The author of GTO, Tooru Fujisawa, recently shared an illustration entitled “Today’s Uchiyamada Rant” following the broadcast the new drama special.

Personally, shortly after I moved to Japan in the early 2000s, I went on a renting spree, watching all sorts of Jdramas, and GTO was one of them. More specifically, I really liked the actor Yosuke Kobuzuka, so I tried to watch as many things that he played in as possible, and I believe GTO was one of them.

The serialized drama GTO, featuring actor Takashi Sorimachi, originally aired in the summer of 1998. After 26 years, it was revived for a special broadcast titled GTO Revival, commemorating the 65th anniversary of Kantele Fuji TV’s opening. In response, Tooru Fujisawa updated his Twitter page and shared an illustration.

GTO follows the story of Eikichi Onizuka, a high school teacher and former motorcycle gang member, as he tackles student and school-related issues with his unconventional methods. Motivated by sincerity rather than status or profit, Onizuka addresses societal issues by expressing his true emotions and risking his life to connect with his students.

In GTO Revival, Onizuka, known as the “Great Teacher,” is assigned to a troubled high school where he imparts his passionate lessons to the struggling Reiwa high school students.

This time, Onizuka finds himself teaching at the Sotoku Gakuin Private High School. The main conflict at this school revolves around “Sai no Kaho,” an online influencer with nearly 2 million followers. Sai no Kaho exposes any topic or person, causing turmoil whether their target may be a celebrity or an ordinary person. Numerous teachers and students at Soutoku Gakuin have already fallen victim Sai no Kaho’s meddling. Rumors run rampant, circulating throughout the school, leading to an atmosphere of suspicion and unease.
