“NieR:Automata” to be featured on the NHK program “Game Genome” with appearances by Yoko Taro, Takahisa Taura, and Yui Ishikawa

Game Genome is an educational program that regards games as a form of cultural and explores the allure of gaming masterpieces. The episode airing tonight will highlight the action RPG NieR:Automata, in which androids, the ultimate weapons of humanity, embark on a mission to reclaim the Earth from machine lifeforms.

Guests appearing on the program include NieR:Automata creative director Yoko Taro, Senior Game Designer Takahisa Taura, and the voice of 2B, Yui Ishikawa.

They will be delving deep into the core of Automata’s story, so beware of spoilers. They’ve claimed that they’ll be discussing the biggest gaming spoiler in the history of the program. This will also be Taura’s first appearance on a television broadcast.

“Yoko Taro is an ass who has no right to be on a show like this, but since it’s Taura’s first time on TV, I’ll try my best to talk with him, although I’m afraid everything will be cut.”

Yui Morishita performs “Corridors of Time” from Chrono Trigger

From time to time, the official Square Enix Music Channel shares new arrangements and covers from their past titles. Today, they shared a new arrangement of Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger, arranged and performed by Yui Morishita.

This has always been one of my absolute favorite tracks from the game, originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, and however ironically, I was just discussing this the other day as well.

▲ He previously performed another piano arrangement from Xenogears entitled Soaring, also originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. Please be prepared for this one, however, if you are familiar with the piece and/or the game. This one is so gorgeous, it will grip your emotions.

▲ And for an extra piece from Xenogears that will also make it difficult to listen without getting emotional, here’s a clip of Masashi Kuno playing an arrangement of “A Distant Promise”.

Just the other day, they shared a video of Takanori Goto performing a cover of “City Ruins” and “Pascal” from NieR:Automata, composed by Keiichi Okabe, a clip that was previous shown as part of the NieR:Automata 6th Anniversary Live Broadcast.

Be sure to check out the Square Enix Music YouTube Channel for the chance to hear some other amazing cover tracks from your favorite games.

Popular Cosplayer Enako dresses up as Anna from Frozen for Halloween

For Halloween this year, the popular cosplayer Enako, who has 2 million followers on Instagram, dressed up as Anna from Frozen and shared the photo on her Instagram account, where she also mentioned that she went to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Tokyo Disney.

Users commenting on the photo were seen saying, “It’s gorgeous!”, “You look just like Anna, even more than she does!”, “The level of perfection here is again off the charts!”, and “Nothing about this seems out of place.”

Although it may seem rather random to suddenly share a famous cosplayer’s Halloween costume, but for fans of Yoko Taro‘s video game NieR:Automata, you should recognize her. She once cosplayed as the lead role of 2B back in 2018 and was even featured in an article by Famitsu.
