SINoALICE “The Very Last Story” Fan Movie Announced

Since it’s kinda sad for a long-standing mobile game to suddenly end service, the powers that be have come together to produce one last story for the fans: an hour-long ending movie that should wrap-up many of the remaining loose ends.

Here’s the teaser trailer:

We see some interesting things throughout the trailer above, for example both the fairy tale and reality versions of the characters, a really cool revisioning of the battlefield that players know all too well, and some really scary dolls that are apparently rampaging within the Library. Maybe they’re trying to “escape”…

▲ A shot of Reality Alice as she jumps from a building. Remember, all of the characters somehow befell a horrible fate in the real world and apparently “woke up” within the Library, that is, if my memory serves me…

▲ An interesting shot of fairy tale Alice… smiling…? And yes, SINoALICE has used Angelic Script throughout the series as well as the majority of Yoko Taro’s works.

The movie is scheduled to be screened on Friday, February 23 at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo and T Joy Umeda in Osaka. No specific time was listed.

▶︎ Comment from Aka Akasaka

Regarding the live-action adaptation of Oshi no Ko, this project extensively references the entertainment world, delving into the realm of actual live-action adaptations of various manga titles. While I typically approach such endeavors with a critical eye and do not readily offer praise, the unexpected announcement of a live-action adaptation for this series prompted me to question its feasibility. Under these circumstances, when informed of the decision to proceed, I found myself compelled to ask the cast and production team, “Are you sure this can be done?” I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to all those who embraced and responded positively to my concerns.

I am intrigued by the exploration of the creative process behind crafting a work like Oshi no Ko, which is situated within the entertainment world. Rather than examining it solely from the perspective of a manga artist, this endeavor invites us to consider the real-world dynamics of the entertainment industry and the resulting implications. I believe many share this curiosity.

I look forward to delving into this exploration alongside all of you and discovering the answers it holds.

Thanks, Comic Natalie.

“Congratulations to “The Boy and the Heron” for winning the Golden Globe Award best animated motion picture. I wasn’t able to go to LA, but the producers and the Suzume team were there. It appears many people at the venue had kind words for “Suzume”. Here’s Harrison Ford with Suzume’s chair!”

Interestingly enough, Shinkai began his career at Nihon Falcom, and he actually directed the opening animation sequence of Ys 2 Eternal.

GACKT’s sequel to “Fly to Saitama” may contain plagiarized content, possible cancellation…?

GACKT’s sequel to “Fly to Saitama” raised concerns recently about suspicions of plagiarism, hinting at a possible cancellation of its release.

Featured at a red carpet event at Roppongi Hills Arena in Tokyo today, the movie “Fly to Saitama, From Lake Biwa with Love” is set to be released on November 23 despite serious concerns over plagiarism.

As stated facetiously by GACKT while on the red carpet, he laughed, “There are serious suspicions of plagiarism in this work. It might be canceled soon or even permanently banned. So, if that happens, I hope you get the chance to see it as soon as possible.”

The film is a sequel to the movie “Fly to Saitama,” which was adapted into a live-action film based on Mineo Maya’s manga and starred GACKT and Nikaido. The original movie earned 3.76 billion yen at the box office.

In the previous installment, the people of Saitama Prefecture overcame persecution from Tokyo residents, achieving the abolishment of the pass system and a peaceful life through the efforts of the Saitama Liberation Front. In the sequel, the ambition of the Saitama Liberation Front is to “create a sea in Saitama” and extend to Kansai, sparking a confrontation between East and West.

No specific details regarding the extent of the plagiarism allegations were released and may actually just be a joke by Gackt himself.
