Later this December and into the beginning of the new year, there will be a collaboration between Gratte, the Animate Cafe, and The Kingdoms of Ruin.
The Kingdoms of Ruin was originally a manga series by yoruhashi and published on MAG Garden. The anime adaption began airing for the fall season of 2023.
▶︎ What is a Gratte?
A “Gratte” is a latte with anime characters printed on the cream on top of the drink. You can choose from a total of 15 different character illustrations.
Some Animate store locations include an eat-in area where you can purchase these drinks as well as other snacks. Cookies with the same illustration on the icing are also sold there.

For anyone who’s a fan of the so-called “Girls” or “Otome” genre of anime, you’ll be pleased to hear about the Animate Girls Festival, an annual event hosted by animate at the Ikebukuro Branch among other locations around the area. This event will exhibit “everything for girls” including anime, manga, voice actors, merch, games geared toward girls, cosplay, and more! More notably, this year marks the 15th anniversary of the event, so it’s especially going to be a great spectacle.
