Dance Dance Revolution Classic Mini Crowdfunding Begins October 10th!

A Japanese-based crowdfunding endeavor for a Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Classic Mini arcade cabinet that will begin on October 10 at 7:00pm (JST) and conclude on November 27 at 11:59pm (JST).

There is a planned total of 700 units (approx. 30 million yen) with a support amount of 43,780 yen (tax included) per unit. If the crowdfunding is successful, they plan to begin shipments around the summer of 2024 at the earliest.

While the actual dance machines have been harder and harder to spot in arcades over the years, this may be the best option for the classic DDR lover.

As far as the software goes, it includes songs from the first 3 games (included tracks will be announced at a later date):

  • DDR
  • DDR 2nd MIX
  • DDR 3rd MIX

DDR was mostly an arcade dancing simulation game in which you synchronized your movements along to arrows on the screen, but the games were also released for home consoles. This product, however, is meant to be played with your hands rather than your feet, making it more a collector’s item for interior decoration. A special dancing pad can be connected to use as intended.
