I don’t see these people as mere fans but rather my fellow compatriots. More than 20 years have passed!”

Acknowledging the hardships along the way, T.M.Revolution reflected on the moments of doubt and opposition, stating, “I felt like giving up many times. I may have been told many times that it’s time for Bandai and Sunrise to bow down and let me do something new. I’ve been waiting for this, so I’m really happy. As a fan, I feel the same as everyone.”

Additional details about Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM were revealed, including the theme song “FREEDOM” by Takanori Nishikawa with t.komuro, marking a dream collaboration with Tetsuya Komuro, a member of TM NETWORK. Nishikawa expressed his sentiment, saying, “We’ve been together for 20 years. Is it really okay to end these series? I took on the challenge with the desire to put everything into it.”

▶︎ About SUNRISE

SUNRISE, the animation studio that produces the Gundam series, is now a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Filmworks, Inc.

SUNRISE Into the Future

For more than 40 years, Sunrise has been a “company that creates things from zero” and has produced many original video productions, including Mobile Suit Gundam and Love Live!

All of these works are the result of the collective passion of “people,” including employees and creators. No matter how advanced technology becomes, this will never change. The desire to create something that resonates with people’s hearts is where it all begins and leads to all our results.

In April 2022, Sunrise merged with the film business of Bandai Namco Arts Inc., which engages in video production and video sales and which is part of the same Bandai Namco Group, and Bandai Namco Rights Marketing Inc., which engages in video distribution and other activities, to start anew as Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc.

Although the structure of the company has changed, we will continue to produce “good things” that deliver excitement to people around the world by bringing together the passions of each and every one of us, centering around the unique “SUNRISE” brand that we have been refining for many years.

PROLOGUE

In the Cosmic Era (C.E.), two distinct human races exist: Coordinators, genetically enhanced individuals with exceptional physical abilities and intellect, and Naturals, those born without genetic manipulation. Ideological conflicts between Coordinators and Naturals escalate into an armed conflict.

Amidst this turmoil, the “Destiny Plan” is proposed, a system that assigns roles to individuals to create a world without competition. However, it is met with resistance in a battle to protect humanity’s freedom and aspirations.

Though the war concludes with many sacrifices, the animosity between these two human races continues to simmer in various parts of the world.
