The Scheme Soundtracks by Yuzo Koshiro

The Scheme is a side-scrolling action RPG released by Bothtec on August 9, 1988 for the PC-88. Composed by none other than Yuzo Koshiro, the first soundtrack was released on April 10, 1989, while the second came out much later on August 21, 2002.

What’s interesting to point out in terms of the overall timeline of releases here is that Koshiro composed the soundtrack for The Scheme shortly after the Ys I soundtrack but around the same time as Ys II, so for fans of the classic Ys titles, this may also be a must have soundtrack to add to your collection!

Here’s a look at the track lists for the two soundtracks:

Out of this list, I have to say that my favorite tracks are the arranged versions on the later soundtrack, which you can hear below:

Now, for the best part, these soundtracks are receiving a brand new arranged soundtrack with fresh new cover art by Ken Sugimori.

You can check out the details on the official Limited Run Games page here or in the write-up that I did earlier this summer here.
