Some of you may recall the name Pokelabo from the release of SINoALICE by Yoko Taro, however, it recently had its end of service celebrations a couple months ago.
A teaser for the upcoming Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten film was released on October 29. This new installment into the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime franchise is scheduled for release in Winter 2024.
Ume Aoki, renowned for contributions to Hidamari Sketch and other projects, handles character design. Despite its initial expectations of being a “relatively heartwarming work” due to its magical girl theme, the series defies convention by delving into a storyline where adolescent girls struggle to fulfill their wishes, leading to a dark and gripping narrative that has garnered significant attention.
The new movie, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten, marks the first film in 11 years, following the 2013 release of “Rebellion,” which served as a sequel to the TV series. This is considered a direct continuation of the series.
This project was initially unveiled during the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Anniversary Stage event in April 2021, and on September 13th, the “first bulletin” was released, including the official release date.
